Altenar Partners with Isle of Man Athletics to Support Local Volunteers

Altenar, a prominent sportsbook and iGaming software provider, has strengthened its commitment to community athletics by funding branded merchandise and implementing a raffle and reward scheme for volunteers. This initiative is part of Altenar’s three-year sponsorship of the Isle of Man Marathon, scheduled for August 11th this year.

Collaboration with Record Holder Ollie Lockley

In a bid to boost volunteer participation, Altenar partnered with Ollie Lockley, the Isle of Man Marathon’s record holder and Athletics Development Officer for Isle of Man Athletics.

Together, they developed a range of co-branded merchandise, including bobble hats and weatherproof jackets, showcasing themes of the Isle of Man, athletics, and volunteering.

Reward Scheme for Volunteers

Altenar introduced a loyalty reward scheme to recognize the efforts of volunteers from local athletics clubs.

Volunteers can earn stamps for each event they participate in, with milestones at five, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 50 stamps. These stamps can be exchanged for merchandise, and each stamp also grants an entry into a volunteer raffle, further incentivizing participation.

Commitment to Community Support

John Quaye, CFO at Altenar, emphasized the importance of this support: “We are delighted to support the Isle of Man Athletics Association in their efforts to recognise the hard work and commitment given by volunteers, without whom many events simply couldn’t take place. Those who know Manx weather will know that this can often be especially challenging.”

Encouraging Volunteer Participation

Quaye expressed hope that Altenar’s support would encourage more volunteers to get involved:

“Our support will hopefully encourage more volunteers to come forward and support what is a great local community for running, walking and athletics. Giving back to the local community is something we take pride in and hope this will be a great success.”
