BetMGM will launch operations in the Netherlands

BetMGM will launch operations in the Netherlands, continuing its expansion into European markets under the leadership of LeoVegas.

Starting a business in the Netherlands

Yesterday afternoon, BetMGM announced that it will be entering the Netherlands via the LeoVegas brand, marking its second launch in the European market following BetMGM’s UK debut last summer.

The launch in the Netherlands will be handled by LeoVegas AB, whose parent company MGM Resorts acquired in 2022. The transaction amounted to USD 600 million. And it was heralded as a breakthrough when it comes to BetMGM’s expansion into European markets.

Gary Fritz, President of MGM Resorts International Interactive, said: – We are thrilled to launch BetMGM in the Netherlands and build on BetMGM’s successful expansion into global markets. The Dutch market offers an exciting opportunity and will be an important part of our international expansion efforts and strategy to become a global gaming leader.

Ambitious plans

A year ago, LeoVegas announced it would try to enter the Dutch market after gaining approval for a license from Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch gaming authority, to relaunch the LeoVegas.nl brand.

Let us recall that BetMGM debuted in Europe a year ago by entering the UK. The second market on the Old Continent where the BetMGM brand will appear will be the Dutch one. BetMGM’s plans for the Netherlands are very large and ambitious, which we should see in the near future.

Gustaf Hagman, Group CEO at LeoVegas Group, said: – Our launch in the UK was tremendously successful, and we eagerly anticipate bringing the golden Vegas experience to the Netherlands… This launch in the Dutch market is an important step in our international expansion, but we have much more in store.
