EveryMatrix Launches “Academy for Heroes” to Support Ukrainian Veterans’ Transition to IT Careers

EveryMatrix has unveiled its latest project, “Academy for Heroes”, a non-governmental organization (NGO) aimed at assisting Ukrainian military veterans in adapting to civilian life. The Academy will offer specialized courses to prepare veterans for careers in the IT industry.

New Initiative to Aid Social Adaptation for Veterans

A project designed to assist Ukrainian war veterans in transitioning to new careers in the technology sector has been launched in Lviv. This initiative comes at a crucial time, as many veterans, including some of the company’s employees based in Lviv, Ukraine, are returning from the front lines in need of support.

As the number of veterans grows, so does the demand for social reintegration programs. The Academy, with courses designed by leading IT experts, aims to address this need.

“There are hundreds of thousands of combatants in Ukraine, a number that is rising every day. Following their return from war, sometimes with serious injuries, many need social adaptation and work that can provide a more certain future,” EveryMatrix stated.

The courses will cover areas such as Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Full Stack development, with veterans receiving hands-on experience through internships at EveryMatrix and other Ukrainian IT firms.

Long-Term Commitment to Supporting Ukraine

Ebbe Groes, Group CEO and co-founder of EveryMatrix, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine, both through direct financial aid and long-term initiatives like this.

“Our Lviv office is central to our continued success and growth. Ever since the country has experienced conflict, we have supported our friends and colleagues, as well as charities, with much-needed funds committing more than €2 million to date, and we will continue to help them,” Groes noted.

The CEO expressed hope that this project will give veterans a pathway to stable employment in the thriving Ukrainian IT sector, ensuring a better future for them and their families.

Expanding Support Beyond Veterans

The Academy for Heroes is EveryMatrix’s second fully funded NGO. In 2015, the company established “TeachStream” to provide resources and educational support to disadvantaged children in Romania.

With this latest initiative, EveryMatrix continues its mission to make a positive social impact, this time by helping those who have served in Ukraine’s armed forces.

Professor Oleksiy Druhov, CEO of the Academy for Heroes, highlighted the uniqueness of the project: “This is the only continuously operating project of its kind in Ukraine for military veterans.”

The Academy plans to educate four groups of veterans annually, with a specialized, inclusive-friendly training center scheduled to open by the end of 2024.
