FanDuel Secures Exclusive EuroLeague Broadcasting Deal for 2024/25 Season

FanDuel, a major US-based online gambling firm, has signed an exclusive broadcasting agreement with Euroleague Basketball for the 2024/25 season. The deal allows FanDuel to broadcast EuroLeague games to US audiences through its TV channels and streaming platforms.

Euroleague Basketball’s Expansion into the US Market

FanDuel will utilize its television network, FanDuel TV, and its OTT platform, FanDuel TV+, to air one game from each Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season round exclusively to US viewers.

This move aims to expand the EuroLeague’s exposure beyond Europe and introduce North American basketball fans to the sport’s popularity in Europe. The broadcasts will be available on a free-to-air basis, increasing accessibility for US audiences.

Alex Ferrer Kristjansson, Euroleague Basketball’s Marketing and Communication Chief Officer, stated, “This agreement with FanDuel is a major step in expanding our footprint outside the pan-European ecosystem. By expanding the EuroLeague broadcasting offer to U.S. audiences, we’re opening exciting opportunities to grow our fan base and connect with basketball enthusiasts on a global scale.”

Platforms and Matches

FanDuel will broadcast EuroLeague matches through various streaming services, including Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, Tubi, Xumo Play, and Plex. Highlighted games include the match between Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade on 23 October, and Real Madrid versus Olympiacos Piraeus on 29 October.

Mike Raffensperger, President of Sports at FanDuel, commented. “We’re constantly looking to expand FanDuel TV’s robust offering of live sports, and EuroLeague has proven to be a highly engaging market amongst FanDuel users. Our agreement will provide more visibility to Europe’s premier basketball league and bring even more captivating watch-and-wager programming to FanDuel TV”.

This collaboration marks an important step for EuroLeague in reaching new audiences and for FanDuel in diversifying its sports content.
