Flutter Entertainment’s UK and Ireland division (Flutter UKI) has proudly announced a substantial commitment of up to £8 million to charitable causes this year.
This initiative is part of the company’s global Positive Impact Plan and involves its three leading brands: Paddy Power, Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG), and Betfair.
Innovative Campaigns by Key Brands
- Paddy Power’s Darts Championship Initiative: Paddy Power, in a unique approach, has pledged to donate up to £1 million to Prostate Cancer UK. This commitment is tied to the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship, with the brand donating £1,000 for every 180 scored. This could potentially result in a £1 million contribution, considering the 901 maximums scored in the last tournament.
- Betfair’s Serial Winners Fund: Betfair, alongside ambassador Rachel Blackmore, launched the ‘Serial Winners Fund’ last month. This initiative includes an initial £100,000 donation to the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Irish Injured Jockeys. Additional funds of £5,000 will be donated for each winner Blackmore rides until the Randox Grand National, potentially reaching £250,000.
- Sky Bet’s Building Foundations Fund: Sky Bet introduced the £6 million ‘Building Foundations Fund’ in partnership with the English Football League (EFL). This is a significant fund dedicated to community activities, allowing EFL clubs to apply for grants up to £100,000 for various initiatives.
Do More: A Wider Corporate Commitment
Flutter’s commitment under the Do More banner is an integral part of its Positive Impact Plan. The goal is to improve the lives of 10 million people by 2030, focusing on Sport & Play, Health and Wellbeing, and Tech4Good. This pledge demonstrates the company’s dedication to making a substantial and positive impact in the communities it serves.
Flutter UKI has also successfully hosted charity events, including a Charity Ball in Dublin and an Annual Charity Gala in Leeds, raising an additional £250,000. These events supported BUMBLEance, the Children’s Ambulance Service of Ireland, and the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in Yorkshire. Additional donations throughout the year amounted to £330,000, supporting various local causes including the Cash4Clubs initiative.
