GambleAware, a leading charity focused on commissioning services for gambling harm prevention and treatment, has unveiled new data maps that provide insights into the prevalence of gambling harms in Great Britain.

These maps offer information at both the local authority and parliamentary constituency levels, shedding light on the demand for and usage of support and treatment services.

Data Visualization by PoliMapper

The data maps, created by PoliMapper, offer a visual representation of gambling harm levels across different regions in Great Britain. These maps are based on the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI), a widely used screening tool for assessing gambling-related issues. By presenting the data visually, the maps make it easier to understand the extent of gambling harm in various areas and identify individuals at risk.

GambleAware’s release of these maps aligns with their regional-first approach to addressing gambling harms. The organization is dedicated to ensuring that individuals across Great Britain can access local support and services for gambling harm. GambleAware’s efforts include building a comprehensive partnership of treatment and support providers through the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN). These regional NGSN providers collaborate with third and public sector organizations to deliver a person-centered approach for those experiencing or at risk of gambling harm.

Increased Campaign Activity

In addition to data mapping, GambleAware has expanded its campaign activities throughout the country. The organization actively engages with local authorities to identify the specific needs of different regions and ensure that individuals have access to the right treatment and support services.

GambleAware’s initiatives are driven by the goal of preventing gambling harms and providing assistance to those affected by such issues. By releasing data maps that highlight the prevalence of gambling harms and the demand for support services, GambleAware aims to create greater awareness and accessibility to responsible gambling resources in local communities across Great Britain.

The release of these data maps by GambleAware serves as an important step in the effort to address and reduce gambling-related harm on a regional level.
