GiG Powers Goldenpark’s Entry into Ontario’s Online Market

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), a leading platform provider, has signed an agreement to enable Goldenpark’s entry into the regulated online market of Ontario.

This expansion marks the first venture outside the Iberian peninsula for Goldenpark and builds upon their existing strong partnership with GiG.

Leveraging GiG’s Expertise

Goldenpark, an established GiG partner, intends to expand its online presence beyond Spain and its recently launched license in Portugal. With five GiG partners already operating or in development in Ontario, Goldenpark aims to capitalize on GiG’s extensive experience and innovative technology to establish a local, personalized customer experience.

GiG places significant importance on fostering strong relationships with its partners. The company offers open, customizable, and tailored technology solutions while providing access to over 30 regulated markets, with eight more in the development pipeline. This approach empowers operators like Goldenpark with brand control and flexibility.

Ontario’s Booming Market

Ontario’s online market, which opened in April 2022, has rapidly grown and generated an estimated C$35.6 billion in total wagers as of July 2023. It boasts approximately C$1.4 billion in total gaming revenue and over 1.6 million monthly players served by 40-plus licensed operators, according to iGaming Ontario (iGO).

Marcel Elfersy, CCO of GiG, expressed the significance of the Ontario online market for the company, stating “The Ontario online market is a significantly strong one for GiG, and as a valued existing partner we’re delighted to be able to take Goldenpark into North America for the first time. It’s a testament to the strength and flexibility of our offering, and the relationship we’ve built with Goldenpark that we are able to explore and grow new opportunities together.”

José Giacomelli, Consejero Delegado of MGA Online Division (to which Goldenpark belongs), added “One of Goldenpark’s biggest challenges for 2024 is the launch of our Ontario operation. Ontario represents a vibrant and rapidly growing market, and we believe that together with GiG, Goldenpark will meet its goals. This agreement signifies not just a geographical expansion, but also an evolution in how both companies envision the future, seize opportunities, and tackle challenges. As always, our core commitment is to our customers and to delivering top-tier solutions, and we are confident that this partnership will allow us to further elevate that standard.”
