Malta Gaming Authority Suspends Goldwin’s Gaming License

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has suspended the gaming license of operator Goldwin due to multiple infractions. This suspension means that Goldwin is no longer authorized to conduct gaming operations under the MGA’s jurisdiction.

Reasons for Suspension

The MGA cited several reasons for the license suspension, including an imminent threat to player interests and Goldwin’s failure to meet its obligations to both players and the regulator. These violations provided sufficient grounds for the regulatory body to take decisive action against the operator.

Despite the suspension, Goldwin is mandated to maintain access to player accounts. The company must also ensure that all player balances are fully paid out, protecting the financial interests of its customers during this period.

Shift to Curacao License

An examination of Goldwin’s website shows that the company has removed any mention of holding a Maltese gaming license. Instead, Goldwin now claims to operate under a license from Curacao. This jurisdiction is known for its lenient regulatory standards, where operators can obtain certification with minimal scrutiny.

In light of these developments, players are urged to exercise extreme caution when dealing with Goldwin. The change to a Curacao license may not offer the same level of player protection and oversight as provided by the MGA, raising concerns about the safety and fairness of the gaming experience.
