Play Alberta Partners with Calgary Sports Teams in Exclusive Betting Deal

Play Alberta has secured a long-term partnership with Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corp. (CSEC), making it the exclusive sports betting and online gaming partner for four professional sports teams based in Calgary.

Calgary Flames Among Key Teams in Play Alberta Partnership

The deal involves several high-profile teams, including the Calgary Flames of the NHL, the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League, the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League, and the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League.

Each team will display the Play Alberta logo on their uniforms, enhancing the brand’s visibility across multiple sporting events in the province.

In particular, the Calgary Flames will feature Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC)’s responsible gambling initiative, GameSense, prominently on their helmets and jerseys during home games.

Promoting Responsible Gambling with GameSense

The partnership also places a spotlight on responsible gambling. AGLC’s CEO, Kandice Machado, emphasized the importance of integrating responsible gambling practices into the iGaming industry.

“There’s significant importance now to showcase meaningful responsible gambling efforts in the iGaming industry. I’m proud of our initiatives to provide GameSense with such a visible platform. GameSense promotes healthy gambling habits online and in person”, she stated.

The inclusion of GameSense, which aims to educate players about responsible gambling, is seen as a key achievement in this partnership, providing fans with tools to manage their gaming behaviors.

CSEC president and CEO, Robert Hayes, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Through GameSense, our partnership with Play Alberta equips our fans with the knowledge required if they wish to participate in gaming while they support their home team. We are both proud and excited to extend our relationship with Play Alberta.”

This collaboration not only brings new opportunities for fan engagement but also supports revenue generation for public programs in Alberta, enhancing the overall quality of life in the province.

Pollard Banknote Expands Offerings on Play Alberta

In a related development, Pollard Banknote Limited recently partnered with AGLC to launch four new eInstant games on PlayAlberta.ca. These games, including Royal Court Riches and Sizzling Hot 7s, mark Pollard Digital Games Studio’s first entries into the North American market.

The partnership is part of a broader collaboration between AGLC and Pollard Banknote through their joint venture, NeoPollard Interactive, which manages various aspects of Play Alberta’s operations.

This expanded game portfolio further strengthens Play Alberta’s offerings, adding to its growing presence in the Canadian iGaming market.
