Poland – Growing Hub for iGaming Innovation

In recent years, Poland has emerged as a growing player in the global technology sector, attracting numerous international companies to establish and expand their operations within its borders. This trend is evident in the growing number of iGaming-focused companies opening offices in major Polish cities.

The country’s strategic location and skilled workforce have made Poland an attractive destination for tech firms looking to leverage these advantages. Just last year couple of a companies decided to broaden their working spaces in the country.

Expansion of SOFTSWISS in Poznań

In late 2023, SOFTSWISS inaugurated a new office in Poznań. This expansion comes on the heels of the company’s rapid growth in Poland, where it employs over 450 specialists.

The new Poznań office, strategically located in the business hub of Nowy Rynek, spans approximately 2,000 square meters.

Ivan Montik, the founder of SOFTSWISS, emphasized the importance of the Polish market, stating, “The opening of the new spacious office in Poznań is an important event in the Polish history of our company. If there is a need to expand our workspace, it means we are moving in the right direction.

Further, he underscored the importance of the local market and explained why Poland is more and more popular destination of IT companies: “The Polish market is a priority for SOFTSWISS’s development. Local legislation positively influences the growth of large international IT companies, and here our employees can feel comfortable both in terms of working conditions and living standards.”

However, SOFTSWISS isn’t the only company that decided to expand its reach in Poland.

Playtech’s Move to Warsaw

Playtech, another major player in the technology and iGaming industry, has recently established its presence in Warsaw at the Sky Office Center.

This office, characterized by its distinctive glass façade, currently hosts a team of ten, with plans for further expansion. The office’s location offers excellent transportation links, a vibrant gastronomic scene, and proximity to green recreational areas and the Galeria Mokotów shopping center.

Notably, Playtech has allocated space in its Warsaw office for colleagues from Ukraine, providing a supportive work environment amidst the ongoing conflict in their home country.

STATSCORE’s New Office in Katowice

STATSCORE, following its acquisition by LSports, opened a new office in Katowice in June 2024. The decision was driven by Katowice’s infrastructure, rapid development, and rich history. The new office is even larger than initially planned, as the answer for the company’s growth and ongoing recruitment efforts.

Dariusz Łęczyński from STATSCORE provided insights into the decision-making process, stating, “When STATSCORE was acquired, LSports already knew that a new office was a necessity. The idea emerged quickly, especially considering the acquisition took place in November 2022. The concept of a new office was always on the table, but the initial focus was on navigating the changes brought about by the acquisition. The decision to finalize the office space was made in July of last year, and discussions about the project’s final design were ongoing.”

The choice of Katowice for the new office was influenced by the city’s excellent connectivity, rapid growth, and rich history. Łęczyński highlighted the advantages, saying, “Katowice is a well-connected, rapidly developing city with a rich history. From our perspective, it was an excellent decision. Recruitment has been ongoing, and we did not wait for the office to be ready to start hiring. Many employees were eager to begin working from our new headquarters. The shift to a hybrid working model has also facilitated this transition.”

Broader Trends in the Technology Sector

The trend of technology firms establishing a foothold in Poland is not limited to SOFTSWISS, Playtech, and STATSCORE. Companies like SB Software have set up offices in Szczecin, while Warsaw and Kraków serve as significant technological hubs for many gaming operators and suppliers, including Leo Vegas, Novomatic, and Grand Parade (part of William Hill).

The influx of these companies helps Poland’s reputation to grow as a fertile ground for technological innovation and skilled specialists. International technology industries are increasingly recognizing the potential of Polish talent and leveraging it to drive their global operations.
