Flutter Invests $3.5M in Hyderabad in India

Flutter Entertainment expands its global presence with a $3.5m investment in a new Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, India, set to house 900 employees and drive innovation across its leading brands.

Flutter’s Hyderabad Office to Host 900 Employees by 2024

The centre, located at RMZ Spire in Knowledge City, covers over 80,000 square feet across three floors and will house more than 700 employees across various departments, including data engineering, game integrity services, HR operations, procurement, safety and security, and customer operations.

In line with its ambitious growth plans, Flutter is looking to increase its headcount to 900 by 2024. The company is actively recruiting for roles in data analytics and engineering, with a focus on achieving diversity in leadership. By 2026, Flutter aims to have 40% of leadership positions at this office filled by women, reflecting its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Teams at the Hyderabad centre will leverage Flutter Edge, a platform that supports global operations for the company’s major brands, including Paddy Power, Sisal, Sky Betting & Gaming, PokerStars, Sportsbet, and Betfair.

Strategic Growth in India

Ashish Sinha, Managing Director of Flutter Entertainment India, highlighted the significance of this expansion:
“We are excited to expand our facility in Hyderabad as we continue to strengthen our presence in India. We aim to grow while maintaining a challenger mindset and leading the sector globally, and India presents a significant opportunity for our business. This expansion aligns with our global vision of Changing the Game by enabling continuous improvement in product and technology across iGaming and sports betting across our portfolio of brands.”

The Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad also plays a role in Flutter’s sustainability goals under its Positive Impact Plan. The facility is gold-certified by the US Green Building Council for its environmentally friendly design, demonstrating Flutter’s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Moreover, Flutter is giving back to the local community with a £30,000 contribution to support various initiatives in Hyderabad throughout 2024, further strengthening its ties to the region.

Hyderabad Hub Integral to Flutter’s Growth Plans

Phil Bishop, Chief Operating Officer at Flutter Entertainment, emphasized the importance of the new centre in the company’s growth strategy:

“Our expansion in India marks a huge milestone in Flutter’s growth and shows our continued commitment to investing in top talent to drive business growth globally. With centres of excellence for Data Engineering, Game Integrity Services, Customer and HR Operations, Procurement and Finance, and through the power of the Flutter Edge, the Hyderabad Global Capability Centre is designed to foster creativity and growth and strengthens our presence in the Indian employment and skills market”, he stated.

This announcement comes as Flutter reports strong financial results for Q2 2024. CEO Peter Jackson recently highlighted a 20% year-over-year revenue increase, which led the company to raise its full-year guidance. Flutter now anticipates a 20% revenue boost and a 34% improvement in adjusted EBITDA at the midpoints of its guidance.
