A record of geolocation checks was set on the occasion of Super Bowl

Super Bowl is one of the most important sports events of the year. The GeoComply company conducted a record number of 100 million geolocation checks on the occasion of the Philadelphia Eagles – Kansas City Chiefs game.

GeoComply’s record

On Sunday night we knew the winner of Super Bowl LVII. The victory was achieved by the Kansas City Chiefs team, which won against the Philadelphia Eagles team 38:35. The event was extremely popular among fans. Indeed, the GeoComply company announced that it has conducted a record number of 100 million geolocation checks in 23 U.S. states and the District of Columbia for online sports betting.

Checks conducted on Saturday and Sunday indicate 25% increase over last year’s Super Bowl weekend. The GeoComply company registered 7.4 million accounts this time, a 32% increase in comparison with Super Bowl LVI.

Excellent results

The largest number of inspections, 13.9 million, were conducted in New York. Anna Sainsbury, co-founder and CEO of GeoComply, comments on the results: – Super Bowl LVII was a record-breaking event. Data from GeoComply shows that Americans’ interest in legal betting on the Super Bowl has never been higher. It turned out that many fans attending the match also took advantage of the betting opportunities.

As it turned out, fraudsters wanted to take advantage of the high interest in sports betting, as reported by Anna Sainsbury: – It is no secret that online fraud is a growing problem in all forms of e-commerce. Online sports betting may be a target for fraud, but because every bettor must verify their location, the industry has the data to stop it before it starts.
