AGA expects record number of Super Bowl bets

Super Bowl LVII is coming up fast. The Kansas City Chiefs will play against the Philadelphia Eagles. The American Gaming Association (AGA) is expecting huge interest and a record result in terms of betting on this game.

Record number of bets

Based on a nationwide sample of 2,199 adults, the AGA found that 20% of American adults will bet at least once on the Super Bowl LVII game, the Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs. If the predictions prove true, it will be an increase of as much as 61% over the record, which was set in 2022.

According to the AGA, 50.4 million of Americans will bet an estimated amount in the range of $16 billion. Of those who plan to make a bet, 30 million will place a traditional bet with a stationary bookmaker or online, which is a 66% increase over last year.

Increasing interest

The association observed that widespread legalization is boosting NFL fans’ interest in betting. AGA President and CEO, Bill Miller, comments on the predictions: – Every year the Super Bowl serves to highlight the benefits of legal sports betting. Players are moving to the protection of the regulated market, while leagues and sports media are experiencing increased engagement. In turn, legal operators are boosting needed tax revenue to states across the country.

As interest in legal betting continues to grow, the gaming industry remains committed to responsibly deliver world-class entertainment, educate consumers about responsible betting and combat illegal gambling. We are also working to build a safe, competitive and sustainable market for all– says Miller.

The emphasis on communicating safe gambling is evident, as 71% of Super Bowl bettors said that last year they saw any form of campaign promoting safe betting.
