Barcelona to Host Clarion Gaming’s ICE and iGB Affiliate Conferences from 2025

Barcelona has been chosen as the host city for Clarion Gaming’s prestigious ICE and iGB Affiliate conferences starting from 2025. The decision comes after an extensive six-month bidding process, with Barcelona prevailing over competing cities such as Madrid, Paris, and ICE’s long-standing home, London.

ICE relocation project

The selection of Barcelona as the new host city was based on various factors, including world-class facilities, exceptional hospitality infrastructure, logistics, customer return on investment (ROI), and scalability. The ICE relocation project, conducted in collaboration with event strategy and location specialist Equimore, meticulously assessed more than 30 variables during the decision-making process. Venue visits, city presentations, and detailed negotiations also played a crucial role in the final decision.

The ICE advisory board, comprising several international brands actively involved in both online and land-based gaming, has endorsed the move to Barcelona. This marks the end of a 12-year tenure at ExCeL London, ICE’s previous home. The 2025 ICE event will be hosted at the Fira de Barcelona, a 240,000 square-meter venue, on a five-year contract from 2025 to 2029. The conference is scheduled to take place from the 20th to the 22nd of January 2025.

ICE and iGB Affiliate will be the sole major events happening in Barcelona during January, offering exhibitors and attendees an exclusive venue and city experience for ICE 2025. To accommodate the influx of participants, Clarion Gaming has already reserved 40,000 hotel nights for ICE week in 2025.

Opportunity to create a significant legacy

Barcelona’s bid stood out due to its outstanding facilities, hospitality offerings, logistical capabilities, and potential for fostering a strong partnership between the international gaming industry, Fira de Barcelona, and public and private stakeholders in Barcelona, Catalonia, and Spain. The move is seen as an opportunity to create a significant legacy for the future of the gaming industry.

Additionally, the detailed review has led to the relocation of iGB L!VE from Amsterdam to ExCeL London in 2025. This move aligns with Clarion Gaming’s commitment to ExCeL London as an exceptional destination and sets the stage for iGB L!VE’s future in key gaming territory.

As preparations continue for next year’s events, ICE 2024 is scheduled to run from the 6th to the 8th February, followed by iGB Affiliate London’s exhibition on the 7th and 8th of February. Clarion Gaming is dedicated to building upon the success of these events and providing an outstanding experience for attendees and stakeholders alike.
