Online sports betting and casino operator Dazn Bet has received authorization to offer sports betting services in Germany. As part of a partnership with Pragmatic Gaming, Dazn Bet was added to Germany’s white list of authorized operators, alongside prominent names like Jackpot50, 888, and Tipico.

Background

Dazn Bet is owned by Dazn, a sports media streaming service. Established in April 2022, the operator is registered in Malta and will operate under the domain Daznbet.de. The white list was introduced following the establishment of Germany’s gambling regulator, Gemeinsamen Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL), which came into effect in July 2021.

The GGL, established in July 2022, succeeded the Saxony-Anhalt State Administration Office in January 2023. The regulator holds various responsibilities, including issuing licenses and combating illegal gambling within Germany. Addressing the issue of unauthorized operators has been a significant focus for the GGL, as indicated in its annual report released in June.
