Lithuania Introduces New State Fees for Gambling Businesses

The Lithuanian government has approved a resolution that aims to regulate state fees, payments, and refunds related to business and economic activities, with a specific focus on the gambling industry.

Lithuania is increasing operating license fees

This resolution has brought some significant changes, including an increase in operating license fees for both national and smaller lotteries.

The fees have gone up from €1,395 to €1,620, which may have an impact on the profits of these businesses. In addition, the resolution has introduced a new permit fee of €1,504 for establishments that plan to open slot machine salons, casinos, or bingo halls. The extension fee for this permit is €186.

Moreover, totalizator betting shops will now need to pay a permit fee of €717 for their opening, and the same extension fee as mentioned earlier will apply.

Businesses that want to make changes or additions to their permits for slot machine salons, casinos, or bingo halls will now have to pay a fee of €369.

Changes to the process for approving gambling regulations

In addition, remote gambling permits now cost €784 due to a new fee structure. There have also been changes to the process for approving gambling regulations.

The fee for approval has been set at €966, and there is an additional fee of €615 for any amendments or additions to these regulations.

This resolution was approved by Lithuania’s Ministry of Finance and went into effect on July 27, 2023. It is part of the government’s efforts to regulate and streamline the gambling sector in the country.
