Malta Gaming Authority revokes the licence of MKC Limited

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has made the decision to cancel the authorization granted to MKC Limited (MGA/B2C/761/2019) effective May 4, 2023. This action has been taken in accordance with regulation 10 of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.

MGA cancels MKC lincence

MKC, a company based in Malta, used to run the Betworld247 sports betting and casino website through its B2C gaming service license.

The cancellation of the authorization is a result of MKC Limited’s violation of several provisions outlined in the Regulations. The reasons for the sanction are as follows:

  1. Failure to comply with one or more obligations set forth in any regulatory instrument or applicable Maltese law.
  2. Failure to fulfill financial commitments related to its operations.
  3. Failure to meet obligations towards players in a timely manner.
  4. Failure to make timely payments of all amounts due to the Authority.
  5. The Authority has determined, at its sole discretion, that cancellation of the authorization is the most appropriate course of action, as one of the suspension grounds specified in regulation 9 has arisen.

The reminder from MGA

Following the revocation, MKC Limited is no longer authorized to conduct any gaming operations. The company is required to immediately remove any references to the Authority and the authorization from its materials.

The Malta Gaming Authority remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance within the gaming industry. This decision serves as a reminder that all operators must adhere to their obligations and commitments to ensure a fair and responsible gaming environment for all stakeholders.

Last year, the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) issued a cease and desist order for MKC. The KSA said that despite not having the necessary licenses, the site was accessible to Dutch consumers without any blocking measures. Additionally, the site included a Dutch language option and allowed players to set their locale to the Netherlands.
