Online Sports Betting in New York Sees $1.17 Billion in Consumer Spending

The month of June saw consumers in New York wager a total of $1.17 billion on sports betting online, marking the lowest monthly figure since August 2022.

Increase in GGR

Despite a decrease, the amount wagered in June was still 10.5% higher than the previous year, with a total of $1.17 billion. However, this falls 14.7% behind the total wagered in May, which was $1.36 billion. This amount is the lowest since August 2022, when $872.2 million was wagered.

In terms of gross gaming revenue (GGR) from sports betting, June recorded $103.8 million, marking a 43.4% increase compared to last year. However, this reflects a 31.7% decrease from May’s GGR of $152.0 million.

Top-performing companies

Among the top-performing companies in terms of revenue, FanDuel led the way by generating $47.2 million in GGR from $418.2 million in wagers. DraftKings followed closely in second place with $37.1 million in revenue but with a higher handle of $488.5 million.

Caesars reported $8.6 million in revenue from a $124.8 million handle, while BetMGM earned $7.0 million in revenue from $75.4 million in wagers. Rush Street Interactive also performed well by generating $2.1 million in revenue from a $32.0 million handle.
