Allwyn Strengthens Leadership with Appointment of Adrian Joseph as Non-Executive Director

Allwyn, the UK National Lottery operator, has enhanced its board by appointing Adrian Joseph as a new non-executive director. Joseph, who holds a similar role at Direct Line Group, brings a wealth of experience in data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to Allwyn.

Expertise in Data and AI

Adrian Joseph previously served as the chief data and AI officer at BT, where he led a team of 1,600 professionals.

His extensive experience is expected to play a crucial role in advancing Allwyn’s growth objectives for the National Lottery, especially following the recent transition of the license from Camelot to Allwyn.

Leadership’s Perspective on the Appointment

Justin King, Chair of Allwyn UK, highlighted the significance of Joseph’s expertise: “Adrian Joseph’s distinctive skillset and experience will help fulfil the company’s ambition to provide a player experience and games portfolio that is fit for the digital era, while at the same time creating a truly accessible, inclusive National Lottery.”

Joseph’s Vision for the National Lottery

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Joseph said: “With an average of £30 million ($37.6 million) raised each week for people and projects across the UK, The National Lottery is truly a force for good. I look forward to working with Justin and the Board to bring this to life, while continually raising the bar on innovation, equality and diversity.”

Joseph’s impressive career includes over a decade of senior roles in data, analytics, and AI at leading companies such as Google and EY. He also serves on the Technology Advisory Board of NatWest Group and was recognized with an OBE in the 2019 New Year’s Honours List for his contributions to equality and diversity in business.
