IGT Extends Contract with Virginia Lottery: A 3-Year Extension for Enhanced Lottery Technology

International Game Technology PLC (“IGT”) has announced a significant contract extension with the Virginia Lottery through its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation. This three-year extension, effective through October 2033, includes options for additional one-year extensions and promises upgraded lottery systems and innovative gameplay features.

A Prolonged Partnership for Progress

IGT’s ongoing collaboration with the Virginia Lottery, which began in 2000, is set to continue with a three-year contract extension. This extension not only reaffirms the strong relationship between the two entities but also ensures the Lottery’s operations will benefit from cutting-edge technology and support until at least October 2033, with potential further extensions.

Under this extended contract, the Virginia Lottery will receive an upgraded central lottery system and communications network, new point-of-sale hardware, and exciting gameplay features. These enhancements, targeted to go live by October 2025, are part of IGT’s commitment to providing advanced technology and enriching the lottery experience for players.

Technological Advancements and Enhanced Gameplay

The contract extension entails upgrading the Virginia Lottery’s central retail system to IGT’s Aurora™, a component of the OMNIA™ lottery solution. Additionally, 5,500 retailer terminals will be replaced with the Retailer Pro S2 terminal, enabling simultaneous feature updates across multiple terminals. These advancements promise to streamline lottery operations and introduce new gameplay experiences, including a progressive jackpot feature for the Lottery’s Print ‘n Play games.
